Alvaro will be teaching in studio and en plein air in his 3 day workshop.
An internationally renowned & award winning protege in both Oils &Watercolors, Lisa will be teaching Watercolors in our workshop. Her soft, transparent, & luminescent work is outstanding. In our workshop, Lisa will be focusing on:
- Drawing techniques/Composition
- Choosing subjects from photos to paintings
- Controlling the amount of water, you use to achieve a variety of brushstrokes
- Creating tonal contrasts
- Step by step demos each day
This will be a 3 day in studio workshop.
Joseph Zbukvic is one of the leading masters of Watercolor in his time. He rarely teaches In Person Watercolor Workshops these days. We're very grateful to host both Lisa & Joesph to Riverside Art Workshops. His ability to transform any subject into visual poetry is awe inspiring. In Joseph's workshop, he'll be demonstrating:
- Basic rules of composition & drawing skills
- Recognition of shapes rather than objects
- Emphasis on creating your own individual style
Joseph will be demonstrating 2 paintings each day. Weather permitting, we'll be working en plein air & inside our studio.

Jason Seiler will be teaching his watercolor and digitalization techniques in this workshop.
This will be a 4 day in studio workshop.
In this workshop, Xi will teach realistic still life and florals. Students will experience a unique approach to realistic watercolors. They will discover the contrast between a dreamy background with detailed subjects in the foreground. They'll discover how the soft and hard edges dance together with rich colors and shadows. Your watercolor skills will reach a new level of expertise in this class.
Prafull Sawant is one of the foremost artists in India. His work is recognized throughout the world. He has received awards in many international countries, including the AWS. He's a highly sought after artist in galleries, exhibits, publishing companies ,and in artistic venues.
His atmospheric landscapes capture the light to create the mood in his paintings. He's also a Brand Ambassador for Daniel Smith.

Ekaterina is an international, award winning artist currently living in Rome. She's studied architecture before beginning her art career. She's very popular on many online art platforms. She's famous for her loose, transparent watercolor florals, as well as her still-life paintings and landscapes. We're very excited that she'll be joining us here in New York for her first time in our country.

Danny Griego is an award winning multi- media artist from San Diego. He'll be teaching both plein air and in studio classes in gouache and casein. You can choose your choice of mediums as Danny will demonstrate their different properties.

Students will work in the studio and learn how to develop paintings with a strong composition and range of tonal values. There will be an emphasis on learning to see the abstract patterns that underpin a good composition and time will be spent learning how to mix paint well so that it flows across the paper to create vibrant, fresh finished pieces of art.
Thomas Schaller, known as The Architect Of Light is an award winning artist, architect, juror, & author based in NYC. A Signature member of the AWS, NWS, & The Transparent Watercolor Society of America. His work is shown all over the world. By using photographic samples, Tom will demonstrate the importance of identifying valid compositional sketches. Then he'll execute impressionistic abstract value studies. Daily demos & exercises will become more comprehensive each day.
